FPR Blog 65: Who, What and Why? Hello Friend.

It's been a long time since I've blogged. I've had what I call bloggers block. I don't consider myself a writer, so writers block doesn't apply to me.

When I started this project I didn't necessarily know what I wanted to do with it. I guess I was just being a child who couldn't let go of the blanky he's had since he was a baby.

It had been ten years of the previous project (fjs) and I had enough of it. I wasn't following up on anything. I wasn't broadcasting live anymore and I sure as hell wasn't writing.

So, when it was time to buy another decade of fjs I decided not to.

Unfortunately, I'm too crazy to sit still and not be creative. So not two days later I was birthing a new project. I knew I didn't want to do anything that involved the real world, so my only option was online radio, again.

It took me about an hour to come up with the name Freedom Pop RadiO and two minutes after that I bought the domain. I couldn't even believe that it was available.

So as corny as it is, it felt like it was meant to be. By April 26, 2015, I had written my first blog and started broadcasting some music.

This is now my 65th blog and we're 13 episodes in on our talk show, the Good, Bad, and Ugly.

Outside of that, there's Tech Society which is our mix show/series and there are now 21 mixes aired on that program. In between those two shows are layers and layers of electronic music.

I decided to call this the Electric List because that's exactly what it is. If this were real radio, this would be the regular rotation.

Tracks on the Electric List are played not mixed just like songs on terrestrial, radio. And lastly DocuCast. This hasn't started yet and I don't feel like explaining it until it's debuted.

Back to the beginning...

Again, I didn't know what I wanted to do this time around, but I knew I didn't want to make fjs 2.0.

I wanted to get as far away from fjs as possible. I even went as far as deleting myself from facebook. I never wanted to be on facebook in the first place, but the powers that be, at the time forced me to make a profile, if not for anything else for the station.

I admit I got into for a while. Catching up with old friends, meeting new ones and sharing my project with all of them.

After a while, it got to be boring and the people you liked catching up with got annoying. So many ignorant statuses. Morons with statements that make the mentally challenged appear intelligent. MEMEs that people think are clever and hilarious. Sure there are a couple of good ones, but this is what the life of many have become. A fucking meme.

Facebook is the ultimate manipulator when it comes to our feelings. Sure we meet new people and it's cool to cross cultures, but many use it as a replacement for intimacy.

Social media has become real life for many people. I found myself sharing way too much of my own life.

Then I started to get banned. The Freedom Pop RadiO link was pushing some buttons and I think they might have taken it to mean anti-government. These days it seems that if you call out corporations and corrupt elected officials, you're anti-American.

I may be many things, but anti-American is not one of them. I love my country, I just have a problem with the way my government behaves.

Anyway, I wanted to get on because I finally felt like blogging. I won't use the word again because maybe this was a spur of the moment thing and I might not blog for a while. It doesn't feel like that at the moment so I hope I continue this...

If and when I blog it's not just going to be about the news, laws, term limits, the crooked system and our elected officials that make it so. I can't say what right now because it's going to have to come from inspirations and I was only inspired to say hello today.

I did want to plug the fact that we're on Sound Cloud now. I even wrote a whole thing about it, which can totally be another blog. So, I'm saving that one for number 66. Besides it was only a test, but I'm going to keep the account open.

Alright, that's it for me I can now scratch something off my to do list... FINALLY!

Thanks for reading.

Spread the word, expose the truth, it's never too late.
