FPR Blog 70: Indian Point, Lies we're Fed and the Resistance a Corrupt System.

I’ve never considered myself a news writer and I’m certainly no journalist…

I’ve never “faked it till I made it” or tried carrying myself as one. Though I’ve written close to a thousand blogs on a vast variety of topics, that doesn’t make me anything more than a blogger.

I’ve always been ok with that. I’ve never tried to write for anyone else. Again, I don’t think much of myself and have way too much respect for the people who go out there to report on important, issues that we need to know about.

Unfortunately, the news is just another form of entertainment via drama, horror, and bad comedy.

I never truly knew the importance of what online writers, hackers, underground information sharers and the rest of the resistance do.

Today I realized what I’ve always felt, but never wanted to believe.

I’ve been lied to my whole life. I don’t say that to justify previous actions or mistakes. I am me no matter what.

I say it because one of the scariest, cancer causing, killer of all that is living is coming down the Hudson and all I see on the news are idiots berating each other trying to win an important election. I can’t blame them, it’s how the majority of America thinks.

Life has become a contact sport and most people are not paying attention to what is truly important. I hate the phrase “if people don’t wake up”, but I do have to say that many live with either their heads in the sand or up their asses.

For those who may not know what Indian Point is… It’s basically land stolen from Native Americans then turned into a Nuclear Power Plant facility. That’s what I’ve heard anyway. Possibly exaggerated truth.

Seriously, though, the Indian Point Power Plant is a facility that doles out nuclear energy to 23 million people living in New York. It’s also been leaking “ uncontrollable” radioactive tritium-concentrated water into the Hudson River. I'm not a scientist, but that doesn't sound good.

New York governor Andrew Cuomo released a statement on the status on the Indian Point leak and ordered a full investigation.

Here’s the statement. But, let me add that not much has been done since. The leak is only getting worse. And, the truth about when it actually began has not been brought to light.

The statement also includes the text of a letter sent by the governor to the acting and current commissioners.

“Yesterday I learned that radioactive tritium-contaminated water leaked into the groundwater at the Indian Point Nuclear facility.  The company reported alarming levels of radioactivity at three monitoring wells, with one well’s radioactivity increasing nearly 65,000 percent. The facility reports that the contamination has not migrated off-site and as such does not pose an immediate threat to public health.

"Our first concern is for the health and safety of the residents close to the facility and ensuring the groundwater leak ‎does not pose a threat.
“This latest failure at Indian Point is unacceptable and I have directed Department of Environmental Conservation Acting Commissioner Basil Seggos and Department of Health Commissioner Howard Zucker to fully investigate this incident and employ all available measures, including working with Nuclear Regulatory Commission, to determine the extent of the release, its likely duration, cause and potential impacts to the environment and public health.”

This is the letter...

Dear Commissioners Zucker and Seggos:

I am deeply concerned to have learned that radioactive tritium-contaminated water has recently leaked from operations at the Entergy Indian Point Energy Center (Indian Point) into groundwater at the site.  This is not the first such release of radioactive water at Indian Point, nor is this the first time that Indian Point has experienced significant failure in its operation and maintenance. This failure continues to demonstrate that Indian Point cannot continue to operate in a manner that is protective of public health and the environment.

The levels of radioactivity reported this week are significantly higher than in past incidents.  Three of forty monitoring wells registered alarming increases.  In fact, one of the monitoring well increased nearly 65,000 percent from 12,300 picocuries per liter to over 8,000,000 picocuries per liter.

Our first concern is for the health and safety of the residents close to the facility and ensuring the groundwater leak does not pose a threat. As such, I am directing you to fully investigate this incident and employ all available measures, including working with Nuclear Regulatory Commission, to determine the extent of the release, its likely duration, its causes, its potential impacts to the environment and public health, and how the release can be contained.  We need to identify whether this incident could have been avoided by exercising reasonable care.  We also need to know how a recurrence of this episode can be avoided by specific steps that Entergy should be taking.

Please report back at the completion of the investigation.
                                                                    Sincerely,

                                                                    ANDREW M. CUOMO

All I find since this statement and letter is on alternative media.

CBS News posted an article online and so did the NY Daily News. Huffington Post covered it as well. But, I have not seen or heard anything about this on radio or television. No CNN, no FOX News or MSNBC.

I only learned about it through a friend who spends a lot of time researching all sorts of information online. I feel like the fact he didn’t come across this matter before tells me it’s being buried.

When he texted me I began to search right away and all I could find was alternative news websites. This made me want to write about it as well. I hope it makes you do the same.

Here are some the alternative news/information websites that have been covering and trying to get this possible catastrophic leak out to the public.

There’s a lot of information on these websites. Please if you care about yourself, your family, your children, the environment then you have to spread this information.

I live about 50 miles from Indian Point, but not even a mile from the Hudson River. Riverfront property is huge in Hudson County, New Jersey. I never thought it was a good idea. The river is polluted and one really bad storm can tear it all down.

What we bloggers do is important. I realize that now. We’re researchable so you don’t have to believe everything we write. Many of us make the information easy to find.

Unlike the mainstream media, we encourage you to question our findings. We expect you to research what we write, mostly because it’s the truth and we want you to know that you can be well-informed yourselves.

You can even start blogging or posting information to reach out to friends on social media so that they too can look beyond the mainstream news channels that spend more time on the circus the electoral process has become with no mention of the potential disaster Indian Point can cause.

Please stay informed. I can only find and post so much. But, whatever I find I will share.

I am part of a resistance that writes against the corrupt system and the occupation in which we currently live under. The psychological warfare & the media manipulation that pulls our strings without us knowing it. An educational system that is trying to dumb our children down. That system whose history books lie and tell us half truths.

A system that rigs currency, pricing and elections.

A system that uses commercialism and relies on fine print to manipulate people into using credit they can’t pay back.

A system that uses illegal resources to fund illegal wars.

A system that lied to the American People on the floor of Congress no less, just to go to war against a country rich in oil.

Yes, Iraq and Afghanistan both had brutal dictators and horrifying governments.

If we went there on a humanitarian mission I would say that mission should start here at home, not overseas. How can we fix the problems of other governments if we can't seem to keep our house in order?

We were even lied to about the outcome of one of two wars that are going on for almost 15 years now.

I don’t know anything about there being a secret society that really runs everything. A shadow government or something like that. But, you don’t have to be a genius to see that there are a few people that control everything we live on.

Money, clothes, food, transportation, hospitals, city infrastructures, our water, and energy are all owned and controlled by a small group of people that occasionally meet up.

Many like to say that monopolies do not exist. Pricing rigging is not real. There isn’t a group of people deciding the price of gas.

There are a lot of gas stations on city streets and highways. They have different names, yet the prices are the same because many are owned by an umbrella company. Not to mention it’s all the same gas. It all comes from the same places, but there’s always a man at the top in every industry.

The media is worse. One guy owns thousands of news sources. Television, newspapers, websites, every way information is distributed today, one man owns. Television and radio stations that you think are competing are actually owned by the same company.

These people also fund wars and not just one side either.

We weren’t lied to about Iraq over oil, we were lied to because war makes many elites a lot of money.

The military industrial complex is not a conspiracy theory phrase.

There was even an American president that warned us about them on mainstream news. No, it's not Kennedy.

People, this is happening and if we don’t start to RESIST against this corrupt system our children will be slaves to it.

Thanks for reading and please share the information. The more people that know the more power we have...

Spread the word, expose the truth, it's never too late.
